Separation Anxiety Help

Photo of a medium size black and white dog with brown and gray spots, sleeping on her back with paws in the air on a gray chaise with text overlay, “Helping your dog feel safe. Giving you peace of mind.”

I understand that separation anxiety can be challenging for both dog and owner alike.

Being unable to leave your dog alone without problems means you often experience frustration or sadness. It can affect your close relationships. It can feel hopeless and isolating to have to plan your entire life around your dog and their needs. Coming home to complaints from the neighbors due to barking, a stressed-out dog, and a mess is no fun for either of you.

Chewed up shoes, destruction to your home, house training problems, or excessive barking are often symptoms of a more serious dog behavior problem.

Separation-related behavior problems respond well to modern desensitization training protocols and can be improved through dedicated training with a custom training plan and slow, steady work.

Let me help you and your dog overcome separation anxiety and get your life back on track!

How It All Works

Step 1: Complete the Intake Form below.

Step 2: Schedule the Initial Consultation: $175

The training starts with a 90-minute Zoom consultation. I will take a detailed history from you and we’ll do a simple exercise to make an initial assessment and determine our starting point. This exercise will also show you what your training sessions will look like.

Step 3: Initial 8-week program: $997

All training includes the following:

  • Weekly 30-minute Zoom sessions where we check in and go over any questions & concerns you have. Same day & time each week.

  • Daily customized training plans and feedback

  • Access to the exclusive SA Pro/Be Right Back Training App where you will access training plans and track your dog’s progress (for both smart phones & computer)

  • Access to resources and materials to support you on your journey.

  • WhatsApp support so you can get your questions answered as they come up.

Training method:

Gradual exposure aka desensitization at the dog's pace. It cannot be rushed. The most important thing we can do is suspend all absences while we work on it. It's not easy. It's a big commitment. But the sooner we start the training, the sooner we will see progress*.

Separation anxiety training takes time, patience, and understanding, for both the dog AND their human. I am here to help & support both of you.

What training looks like:

  • At your convenience, you’ll do 4-5 training sessions/week.

  • You’ll record your sessions, then upload them to WhatsApp.

  • I will give you feedback on each session and then update your training plan in the SA Pro Training App.

  • You’ll review my feedback and the updated training plan each day prior to your next session.

What you’ll need for the training:

  • Computer

  • High-speed Internet access

  • Apps: WhatsApp and Loom, both free

  • A dedicated app-based web cam - so you can see what’s happening with your dog when you leave.

  • Smart phone to communicate with me, watch your dog while you’re outside the door, and to upload your training session videos to WhatsApp.

*There are no guarantees with any behavioral outcomes. If anyone promises you they can "fix" or "cure" your dog, please continue your search for a qualified positive reinforcement/force-free dog trainer.
